Job Overview: A corporate travel consultant in a travel agency is responsible for managing the travel needs of corporate clients, including booking flights, accommodations, and transportation, while ensuring cost-efficiency and compliance with corporate travel policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, acting as their primary point of contact for all travel-related matters.
- Arrange and manage flight reservations, ensuring cost-effectiveness, schedule flexibility, and compliance with company travel policies.
- Secure hotel reservations, considering location, cost, and client preferences.
- Arrange transportation, such as car rentals, transfers, and rental vehicles for business travellers.
- Assist clients in obtaining necessary travel documents, visas, and other required paperwork.
- Negotiate corporate discounts with airlines, hotels, and other service providers to reduce travel expenses.
- Assist clients with expense reporting and reimbursement processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Ensure that all travel arrangements align with the corporate client’s travel policies and budget constraints.
- Provide 24/7 support for clients during travel, helping them navigate unexpected issues, such as flight delays or cancellations.
- Utilize travel booking software and platforms to efficiently manage bookings and reservations.
- Generate travel reports and summaries for corporate clients, including expense breakdowns and travel patterns.
- Keep clients informed of travel alerts, changes, and any relevant information that may impact their travel plans.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in travel management or related field.
- Knowledge of corporate travel management and industry trends.
- Excellent knowledge of Sabre GDS (Global Distribution System) and knowledge of Amadeus and Galileo
- Able to book flights, issue, re-issue and refund tickets
- Strong knowledge of airline ticketing procedures, fare structures, fare rules and reservation systems
- Proficiency in travel booking systems and software.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Problem-solving skills to handle unexpected travel disruptions.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with international travel regulations and requirements.
- Client-focused mindset and the ability to build and maintain relationships with corporate clients.
- Experience in corporate travel management or related roles is a plus.
