Ticketing Consultant 

Job Overview: A ticketing consultant plays a crucial role in the travel agency by assisting customers in booking and managing flight tickets, ensuring accuracy, and providing support throughout the travel process. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Knowledge in GDS system especially in Sabre 
  • Able to make reservations, issuance and support 
  • Handle visa applications, hotel and travel insurance 
  • After hours emergency services when required 
  • Assist customers in booking flight tickets, including selecting suitable airlines, routes, and seat preferences. 
  • Provide customers with accurate fare quotes, considering special offers, discounts, and any applicable fees. 
  • Issue and confirm flight tickets promptly, ensuring all details are accurate. 
  • Handle itinerary changes, including rebooking, cancellations, and modifications, and communicate any associated fees to customers. 
  • Provide customers with up-to-date information on flight schedules, availability, and potential disruptions. 
  • Process payments for flight tickets and manage transactions securely. 
  • Ensure customers have the necessary travel documents, such as e-tickets, boarding passes, and relevant identification. 
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues related to their flight bookings with professionalism and efficiency. 
  • Coordinate and manage complex travel itineraries for customers with multiple destinations and stopovers. 
  • Ensure that all flight bookings comply with airline regulations and legal requirements. 
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, bookings, and financial transactions. 
  • Promote additional services, such as travel insurance, airport transfers, or seat upgrades. 
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell other travel-related services, like accommodation or car rentals, to customers. 

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Minimum Diploma/Degree in the tourism industry or equivalent 
  • Proven experience as a Ticketing Consultant within the travel industry   
  • Excellent knowledge of Sabre GDS (Global Distribution System) and knowledge of Amadeus and Galileo 
  • Able to book flights, issue, re-issue and refund tickets 
  • Strong knowledge of airline ticketing procedures, fare structures, fare rules and reservation systems  
  • Able to work independently and have good interpersonal skills  
  • Excellent communication and fluent in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia  
  • Passionate for travel, tourism and hospitality industry
