Job Overview: A ticketing consultant plays a crucial role in the travel agency by assisting customers in booking and managing flight tickets, ensuring accuracy, and providing support throughout the travel process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Knowledge in GDS system especially in Sabre
- Able to make reservations, issuance and support
- Handle visa applications, hotel and travel insurance
- After hours emergency services when required
- Assist customers in booking flight tickets, including selecting suitable airlines, routes, and seat preferences.
- Provide customers with accurate fare quotes, considering special offers, discounts, and any applicable fees.
- Issue and confirm flight tickets promptly, ensuring all details are accurate.
- Handle itinerary changes, including rebooking, cancellations, and modifications, and communicate any associated fees to customers.
- Provide customers with up-to-date information on flight schedules, availability, and potential disruptions.
- Process payments for flight tickets and manage transactions securely.
- Ensure customers have the necessary travel documents, such as e-tickets, boarding passes, and relevant identification.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues related to their flight bookings with professionalism and efficiency.
- Coordinate and manage complex travel itineraries for customers with multiple destinations and stopovers.
- Ensure that all flight bookings comply with airline regulations and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, bookings, and financial transactions.
- Promote additional services, such as travel insurance, airport transfers, or seat upgrades.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell other travel-related services, like accommodation or car rentals, to customers.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum Diploma/Degree in the tourism industry or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Ticketing Consultant within the travel industry
- Excellent knowledge of Sabre GDS (Global Distribution System) and knowledge of Amadeus and Galileo
- Able to book flights, issue, re-issue and refund tickets
- Strong knowledge of airline ticketing procedures, fare structures, fare rules and reservation systems
- Able to work independently and have good interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and fluent in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
