Overview
This day tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel at 8:30 AM, followed by a transfer to the Batu Caves, a historic Hindu temple site located in a limestone hill. The caves, which gained worldwide recognition in 1878, feature a massive 140-foot statue of the deity Murugan and are home to numerous temples. Visitors can climb 272 steps to reach the Cathedral Cave, where the main temple is located, and experience the unique atmosphere of this sacred site, often visited by thousands during the Thaipusam festival.
The tour then continues with a transfer to Genting Highlands, a popular hill station city located at an elevation of 1,800 meters. Known for its Resorts World Genting, which features casinos, theme parks, and numerous entertainment options, this mountain retreat offers a variety of activities, including a ride on Southeast Asia’s longest and fastest cable car. After exploring the attractions of Genting Highlands, you will be transferred back to your Kuala Lumpur hotel to conclude the day’s tour.

Stop At: Batu Cave
- The caves remained little-known until 1878 when American naturalist William Temple Hornaday revealed them to the wider world.
- K. Thamboosamy Pillay, leader of the Tamil Hindu community in Malaya, built a temple within the caves in 1891.
- Pillay was inspired by the cave entrance’s similarity to the spear tip of the deity Murugan’s vel.
- Thaipusam, a Tamil Hindu festival devoted to Murugan, was first celebrated on the site in 1892 and has since become a major event.
- The Batu Caves are situated within a high limestone outcropping.
- A colossal gold-painted statue of Murugan, 140 feet in height, stands near the base of a flight of 272 steps.
- Climbers are often accosted by macaques begging aggressively for food as they ascend.
- At the top of the steps lies the entrance to the largest cave, known as Cathedral Cave or Temple Cave.
- Within Cathedral Cave is the largest of several temples on the site.

- Genting Highlands is a hill station city situated on the peak of Mount Ulu Kali in Malaysia, boasting an elevation of 1,800 meters.
- The journey to Genting Highlands takes approximately 48 minutes by car.
- The area spans across a large portion of Pahang state, with a smaller portion extending into Selangor state.
- Established in 1965 by Chinese businessman Lim Goh Tong.

- If full payment is not received one month prior to arrival date, Star Travel has the right to cancel your reservation. Star Travel will not be responsible for lost reservations.
- If a person in a party cancels and there is a room change caused by this cancellation (such as Twin to Single), charges for the new room type will be the responsibility of the remaining party.
- Illness or Absence: Early return expenses are the guest’s responsibility. There is no refund for absence or early departure from a guided holiday.
