The coastal regions of Sarawak came under the influence of the Bruneian Empire in the 16th century. In 1839, James Brooke, a British explorer, first arrived in Sarawak. Sarawak was later governed by the Brooke family between 1841 and 1946. During World War II, it was occupied by the Japanese for three years The city was founded in 1839 by James (later Sir James) Brooke, who also founded the Brooke Raj and became ruler of Sarawak. He built the city’s first European-style house on the jungled southern bank of the muddy, crocodile-infested Sarawak River, 15 miles (24 km) from the South China Sea.

DAY 1 – ARRIVE KUCHING – CITY TOUR – DAMAI BEACH RESORT

Pick up from airport and proceed for 3 hours Kuching Sightseeing tour. Start with Chinese Museum, Tua Pek Kong Temple. Continue with Kuching Waterfront. Afternoon transfer to hotel for check in. 5pm-pick up from hotel and transfer to Kuching Waterfront Take a leisurely stroll along the Waterfront to explore its historical buildings such as Round Tower, Square Tower, Clock Tower, Post Office Building & Old Court House. Proceed to Golden S Bridge and Floating Mosque. Photo stops will be made at the statue of “White Fortunate Cat” and the office complex of Kuching City South Council. The first great Cat Statue located in Padungan Street in front of Little Chinatown. The statue looks as if it is waving its left hand which also believed as a symbol of hope for luck and fortune. Check in Damai Beach Resort Lunch and Dinner at local restaurant. (Own expense). Overnight at Damai Beach Resort.

DAY 2 – SARAWAK CULTURAL VILLAGE – ORCHID GARDEN – MALAY LAYER CAKE SHOP            (B)

Breakfast at hotel. Free activity in the morning. Hotel check out. Pick up from hotel lobby and depart to The Sarawak Cultural Village. The Sarawak Cultural Village-it is a primary attraction in the area, which is essentially a living museum that allows visitors a first-hand experience of Sarawak's ethnic diversity. Visitors are able to see models of building that represent every major ethnic group in Sarawak such as a Chinese farmhouse, a Malay town house with adjacent top-spinning court, a Melanau tall house, a Penan jungle settlement, Bidayuh, Iban & Orang Ulu Longhouses. After touring the village, you can enjoy a multicultural dance performance in the village’s own theater. Continue with Orchid Garden. The garden offers the public a closer view of orchid displayed in an environment closet to their natural habitat. The display area shows the rich and exquisite variety of orchid species. (Open on Tue-Sun only). Malay Layer Cake Shop is the one One stop center for customers to choose and buy handicrafts, fish terubok and the famous Malay Layer Cake. Lunch and Dinner at local restaurant. (Own expense). Check in hotel. Overnight in Kuching.

DAY 3 – BORNEO CULTURE MUSEUM – DEPARTURE                                                                            (B)

Breakfast at hotel. Hotel check out. Proceed to Borneo Culture Museum. Borneo Culture Museum is housed in a 30,000sq m state-of-the-art building, is Malaysia's largest museum complex and the second largest museum in South-East Asia after the Singapore National Museum. There are over 1,000 artefacts that represent the rich history, culture and heritage of the diverse population and indigenous peoples of Sarawak and Borneo. Transfer to Kuching International Airport for Departure.

  2. This is only a quotation. No reservation has been made until we receive your written acceptance of the quotation and deposit to secure the quotation rates.
  3. Price is subject to any surcharge including peak season surcharge / weekend / public holiday surcharge.
  4. Confirmation is subject to availability of both hotels / land transfer arrangements.
  5. Deposit of 50% is required upon booking confirmation and final payment to be paid in full one month before arrival.
  6. Change of travel date is allowed and must be made 2 weeks prior to check-in date and is subject to room availability.
  7. Cancellation procedure:
  8. Travel arrangements for any member of the party may be cancelled at any time by written notice by the person who made the booking.
  9. Please note the following:

If notice of cancellation is received by Star Travel more than 30 days prior to the guided holiday departure date, 20% will be retained along for Star Travel’s Cancellation Fee Waiver payment.

  1. If full payment is not received one month prior to arrival date, Star Travel has the right to cancel your reservation. Star Travel will not be responsible for lost reservations.
  2. If a person in a party cancel and there is a room change caused by this cancellation (such as Twin to Single), charges for the new room type will be the responsibility of the remaining party.
