Overview
Embark on a fascinating journey through the scenic landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Bario with this meticulously planned three-day itinerary. Upon arrival at Bario Airport, settle into your homestay and receive a comprehensive briefing on your itinerary from a knowledgeable local guide. After lunch, delve into the history of the region with visits to the WW2 Monument and plane wreckage, along with exploring the charming villages and surrounding areas of Bario. The following day, start with an early morning trek up Prayer Mountain to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the picturesque Bario landscape, followed by a visit to the Penan settlement and a delightful brunch at a local shop. Later, embark on an adventure to Pa’Umor Longhouse and explore the scenic wonders of Batu Ritong and Perupun Rayeh, including a trek to the salt spring and a stop at a pineapple farm. Conclude the day with an immersive cultural experience at Ulung Palang Longhouse, interacting with locals and enjoying traditional performances. Finally, bid farewell to Bario after breakfast on the third day, as you transfer to the airport for your onward flight, leaving behind memories of an enriching and unforgettable journey.

Day 1: Bario Airport (Lunch / Dinner)
- Meet at Bario Airport upon arrival and transfer to homestay.
- Settle into accommodation and receive itinerary briefing from local guide.
- After lunch, explore Bario, including visits to the WW2 Monument, plane wreckage, and nearby villages.
- Return to homestay to freshen up before dinner.
- Overnight stay at the homestay.
Day 2: Prayer Mountain – Penan Settlement (Pa’umor Longhouse) – Vegetable Farm / Local Craft (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
- Wake up early at 4:30 am for a light breakfast.
- Embark on a trek up Prayer Mountain to catch a stunning sunrise panoramic view of Bario.
- Return from the trek to visit the Penan settlement and enjoy brunch at a local Bario shop.
- Trek back to the homestay for breakfast and lunch.
- Later, embark on a 4WD journey to Pa Lungan to explore Batu Ritong and Perupun Rayeh with your guide.
- Visit the salt spring during the trek.
- On the way back, make a stop at a pineapple farm before returning to the homestay.
- Enjoy free time for leisure or self-exploration of Bario.
- Dinner awaits at the guesthouse before heading to Ulung Palang Longhouse for a cultural evening with the locals.
- Return to the guesthouse for rest.
Day 3: Transfer Out – Departure (Breakfast)
- Breakfast before transferring to the airport for flight out.

- Rates quoted strictly for minimum number of persons as per request above, if less or any reduce no of person the rate will be different.
- This is only a quotation. No reservation has been made until we receive your written acceptance of the quotation and deposit to secure the quotation rates.
- Price is subject to any surcharge including peak season surcharge / weekend / public holiday surcharge.
- Confirmation is subject to availability of both hotels / land transfer arrangements.
- Deposit of 50% is required upon booking confirmation and final payment to be paid in full one month before arrival.
- Change of travel date is allowed and must be made 2 weeks prior to check-in date and is subject to room availability.
- Cancellation procedure: Travel arrangements for any member of the party may be cancelled at any time by written notice by the person who made the booking.
- Please note the following: If notice of cancellation is received by Star Travel more than 30 days prior to the guided holiday departure date, 20% will be retained along for Star Travel’s Cancellation Fee Waiver payment.
- If full payment is not received one month prior to arrival date, Star Travel has the right to cancel your reservation. Star Travel will not be responsible for lost reservations.
- If a person in a party cancels and there is a room change caused by this cancellation (such as Twin to Single), charges for the new room type will be the responsibility of the remaining party.
- Illness or Absence: Early return expenses are the guest’s responsibility. There is no refund for absence or early departure from a guided holiday.
