Overview
Embark on a captivating 5-day journey through the cultural and natural wonders of Kuching, Sarawak. Upon arrival at Kuching International Airport, you’ll be greeted by our personnel and transferred to your chosen accommodation. The following afternoon, delve into the heart of Kuching with a city tour, exploring colonial landmarks, bustling Chinatown, and the historic Main Bazaar. Day 2 takes you to Bako National Park, the oldest national park in Sarawak, where you’ll encounter diverse flora and fauna, including the unique proboscis monkeys. Day 3 brings you to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre to witness semi-wild orangutans, followed by a journey to Lemanak Iban Longhouse for an immersive cultural experience. Day 4 begins with a blowpipe demonstration and jungle walk before returning to Kuching city. Finally, on Day 5, enjoy leisure time until your departure transfer to Kuching International Airport.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Kuching – Kuching City Tour
- Meet and greet by our personnel at Kuching International Airport upon arrival.
- Transfer to your chosen accommodation, subject to early check-in availability.
- In the afternoon, embark on a Kuching City Tour to explore the capital city of Sarawak.
- Discover colonial landmarks such as the Colonial Court House, Clock Tower, and Charles Brooke Memorial.
- Visit bustling Chinatown, a Chinese Temple, and the historic Main Bazaar.
- Enjoy scenic views of Sarawak State Legislative Building, The Astana, and Fort Margherita.
- Take in the charm of the Malay Village across the river from the Kuching Waterfront.
- Return to your hotel after completing the tour.
Day 2: Bako National Park Daytrip – Sea Stack (Breakfast / Lunch)
- Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
- 08:00hrs: Meet at the hotel lobby to depart for Bako National Park, the oldest national park in Sarawak.
- Reach the park after a 30-minute drive followed by a 30-minute boat ride.
- Explore the park’s 16sq km of primary forest, home to a diverse range of flora and fauna.
- Encounter unique plant life including the carnivorous pitcher plant and explore Bako’s mangrove forest, known for proboscis monkeys.
- Spot other species such as long-tailed macaques, silver leaf monkeys, monitor lizards, and bearded pigs.
- Enjoy a jungle trekking adventure along park trails.
- Have lunch at the park canteen.
- After completing the tour, return to your hotel.
Day 3: Semenggoh Wildlife Centre – Lemanak Iban Longhouse (Breakfast / Lunch/ Dinner )
- Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
- 08:00hrs: Meet at the hotel lobby for the next part of the tour.
- Visit Semenggoh Wildlife Centre to observe semi-wild orangutans in their natural habitat.
- Walk through the jungle trail for an unforgettable encounter with the “wild man of Borneo.”
- Afterward, continue the tour to Lemanak Iban Longhouse.
- Travel by coach for approximately 4 hours, followed by a native longboat ride upstream for an hour.
- Experience breathtaking countryside scenery, passing through paddy fields, rubber plantations, cocoa gardens, pepper orchards, lush secondary, and virgin jungles.
- Enjoy lunch at a small town before arriving at the river jetty.
- Later in the afternoon, reach the Iban longhouse and explore the surrounding area.
- In the evening, immerse yourself in traditional Iban culture with evening entertainments.
- Witness the traditional welcome dance “ngajat” performed in full ceremonial regalia.
- Don’t miss the rice wine drinking session “tuak” before retiring for the night.
- Overnight stay at the Iban longhouse on a sharing basis, consisting of individual mattress, pillow, blanket, and mosquito net.
Day 4: Lemanak Iban Longhouse – Kuching City (Breakfast / Lunch)
- Enjoy breakfast at the Iban longhouse.
- Witness a blowpipe demonstration, a traditional Iban skill.
- Proceed for a jungle walk through rubber plantations, secondary forests, and an Iban burial ground.
- After the jungle walk, ferry down the river to the jetty.
- Begin the return journey to Kuching via the same route.
- Have lunch en-route to Kuching.
- Upon arrival, transfer to a city hotel for check-in.
- Overnight stay at the city hotel.
Day 5: Departure (Breakfast)
- After breakfast, free at leisure until your departure transfer to the Kuching International Airport.

- Rates quoted strictly for minimum number of persons as per request above, if less or any reduce no of person the rate will be different.
- This is only a quotation. No reservation has been made until we receive your written acceptance of the quotation and deposit to secure the quotation rates.
- Price is subject to any surcharge including peak season surcharge / weekend / public holiday surcharge.
- Confirmation is subject to availability of both hotels / land transfer arrangements.
- Deposit of 50% is required upon booking confirmation and final payment to be paid in full one month before arrival.
- Change of travel date is allowed and must be made 2 weeks prior to check-in date and is subject to room availability.
- Cancellation procedure: Travel arrangements for any member of the party may be cancelled at any time by written notice by the person who made the booking.
- Please note the following: If notice of cancellation is received by Star Travel more than 30 days prior to the guided holiday departure date, 20% will be retained along for Star Travel’s Cancellation Fee Waiver payment.
- If full payment is not received one month prior to arrival date, Star Travel has the right to cancel your reservation. Star Travel will not be responsible for lost reservations.
- If a person in a party cancels and there is a room change caused by this cancellation (such as Twin to Single), charges for the new room type will be the responsibility of the remaining party.
- Illness or Absence: Early return expenses are the guest’s responsibility. There is no refund for absence or early departure from a guided holiday.
