Overview
This 6-day Sri Lanka tour offers a blend of cultural exploration, scenic train journeys, and wildlife encounters. The journey begins in Negombo, a coastal town near the airport, and moves on to Pinnawala, where you can interact with elephants, followed by a visit to Kandy’s Temple of the Tooth Relic. The next day, embark on a scenic train ride to Nuwara Eliya, known for its British colonial charm, before heading to Bentota via Kitulgala to explore waterfalls, caves, and the historic Galle Fort.
In Bentota, experience whale watching, visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, and take a boat ride along the Bentota River. The tour concludes with a city tour of Colombo, exploring key landmarks like the Fort, Pettah market, and Independence Square. After lunch and some shopping, enjoy a seafood dinner before heading to the airport for your departure. This tour combines nature, history, and adventure for a well-rounded Sri Lankan experience.

Day 1: Arrival Colombo – Negombo (Dinner)
- On arrival at Colombo International Airport, meet our local representative and proceed to the Negombo Hotel for the overnight stay.
- Negombo is a modest beach town located just 10 kilometres from Bandaranaike International Airport.
- Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 2: Negombo – Pinnawala – Kandy (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- After breakfast at hotel, proceed to Kandy, en route, visit the Millennium Elephant Park.
- At MEF, you will get the opportunity to walk with an elephant, feed the elephant, bathe the elephant, and if you wish, have an elephant shower too.
- After the visit, proceed to Mawanella for lunch at an herbal garden.
- Before the lunch, you may enjoy a head and shoulder massage to rejuvenate yourself.
- On completion, continue journey to Kandy.
- In the evening visit the Kandy Temple of the Tooth Relic and then enjoy a cultural dance performance.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya (Little England) (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- After breakfast at hotel, get on board the train to enjoy one of the world’s best train journeys through mountains, waterfalls, tea gardens, tunnels, vegetable gardens, and thick forest.
- This will be a 3.5-hour journey.
- Meet your guide at the Nuwara Eliya railway station and proceed to the hotel.
- After lunch at the hotel, explore Little England.
- Visit the highland city that was the premium holiday resort town of the British in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
- Enjoy walking through the streets with their pretty little cottages, quaint villas, and beautiful mansions.
- Make a memory in the old, red-brick post office as you purchase a postcard to take home or send to your friends.
- Relax at Queen Victoria Park or on the shores of Lake Gregory after visiting the Sita Amman Temple.
- Dinner and an overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Nuwara Eliya – Bentota via Kitulgala (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- After breakfast at hotel, leave for Bentota via Kitulgala.
- Explore the Broadlands Dam, discover the historical secrets of the Belilena Cave, and admire the beauty of several waterfalls along the way from Aberdeen Falls to Nalagana Ella Falls.
- Lunch at Plantation Restaurant Kitulgala.
- After lunch, proceed to Galle to admire the UNESCO Heritage City.
- Today’s town has grown greatly and spreads into the surroundings, but the Fort is the slow beating heart of Galle’s history.
- The walled city has stood since the early sixteenth century, through the colonial periods of the Portuguese, Dutch, and British, and in our present times, it has been proclaimed an archaeological reserve and has been identified as a living world heritage site.
- Check in to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Bentota — Mirissa – Bentota (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Early morning, leave for whale watching.
- The final leg of the Big Five experience is the whale-watching expedition to get a glimpse of the blue whale and the sperm whale.
- Just off the coast of south Sri Lanka, in the jewel of the Indian Ocean, swims the majestic blue whale, the largest creature on earth.
- Your whale watching guide will talk to you about the whale experience in Sri Lanka, the marine lifestyle, the conservation of the same, and help you see these creatures in the wild as they are meant to be seen.
- Keep in mind that you are not allowed to snorkel or swim with the whales without prior permission. Such can be obtained only on special requests. We are unable to guarantee approval for this.
- On completion, return to the hotel en route, visit the turtle conservation farm.
- Visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery on the southwestern coast of Sri Lanka.
- Learn more about the five endangered sea turtle species that come to the shores of Sri Lanka to nest and learn how the Kosgoda Turtle Care Programme helps protect the nests until the eggs hatch and increases the chances of survival for the babies.
- Get a chance to see, touch, and feed baby turtles—or even injured adult turtles—that the Turtle Hatchery cares for.
- Lunch at the hotel and relax.
- In the evening 3:00 pm, enjoy a boat ride on the Bentota River.
- Get a chance to see crocodiles, water snakes, tree snakes, and wild boars in their natural habitat.
- Watch the cormorants, storks, and many other avian species hunts for their prey in the swift flow of the Bentota River.
- Return to the hotel and relax.
- Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 6: Bentota – Colombo – Departure (Breakfast)
- After breakfast at the hotel, check out at 11 a.m. and proceed to Colombo.
- Lunch at Nom Nom Thai Restaurant.
- City tour and shopping stops.
- City tour of Colombo: a drive through the city takes you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential neighbourhoods, Cinnamon Gardens, Visit Fort, the former British administrative centre and military garrison, Sea Street, the Goldsmiths quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where there is also a Hindu temple with elaborate stone carvings, and the Dutch Church of Wolfen Dhal dating back to 1749.
- Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha, and visit Independence Square.
- After the city tour, refresh yourself (changing rooms will be arranged for 2 hours).
- Enjoy a Chinese seafood dinner and reach the airport by 9 p.m. to catch your flight home.
