Overview
Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Gandantegchinlen Monastery, one of Mongolia’s most significant religious sites, and explore the National Museum, which offers insights into the rich history and culture of the country. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner before retiring to your hotel for the night.
On the second day, which marks New Year’s Eve, you’ll travel to the Mongol Nomadic Ger camp, located 50 kilometers from Ulaanbaatar. Here, you’ll immerse yourself in Mongolian traditions by learning the ancient Mongolian script, experiencing a horse sleigh ride, and playing the traditional game of “Shagai” (knuckle bone). You’ll also visit a nomad family to participate in the preparation of traditional New Year’s dishes such as “buuz” and “bansh” dumplings. In the evening, celebrate New Year’s Eve with a traditional folklore show before spending the night in a cozy Ger.
On the third day, the Lunar New Year, known as Tsagaan Sar, you’ll engage in various festive activities. Before sunrise, you’ll perform the first path of the New Year according to your birth year, as per Mongolian customs. The day will be filled with visits to nomadic families, traditional New Year’s greetings, horseback riding, and archery. You’ll have the chance to dress in costumes of ancient warriors, queens, and shamans for photos. You’ll also learn traditional Mongolian dances and participate in a puzzle game competition. The night will be spent once again in the Ger camp.
The fourth day will take you to Khustai National Park, home to the famous wild Takhi (Przewalski’s Horse). After traveling 50 kilometers, you’ll visit the park’s Information Center to learn about the horses before exploring the snow-covered steppe in search of these magnificent animals. You’ll then settle into a Ger camp for the night.
On the fifth day, you’ll visit the impressive Chinggis Khaan statue complex, located 160 kilometers away. After exploring the area and having lunch, you’ll continue to Terelj National Park, 40 kilometers from the statue complex. Here, you’ll visit iconic landmarks such as Turtle Rock and Aryabal Temple, spending the night in a Ger camp.
The next morning, you’ll return to Ulaanbaatar, a 65-kilometer journey. Once back in the city, you’ll have time to do some shopping before enjoying a farewell dinner. You’ll then spend your final night in a hotel.
On the last day, after breakfast, you’ll check out from your hotel and be transferred to the airport for your departure, bringing your festive Mongolian adventure to a close.

Day 1: Arrival Ulaanbaatar (Lunch/Dinner)
- Upon arrival at Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel.
- In the afternoon, embark on a cultural exploration starting with a visit to the National Museum and explore the vibrant Central Square.
- In the evening, enjoy traditional art performance and welcome dinner.
Day 2: Meet with nomads (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast and depart from Ulaanbaatar and travel 50 km to the picturesque Ar Dulaan valley, located west of the city.
- Upon arrival, visit a nomadic family to gain a deeper understanding of traditional Mongolian culture and lifestyle.
- You can enjoy learning daily life of nomad herders, making of dairy products and tastings, movement by ox cart and camel freight, playing national musical instrument and singing folk songs and horsemen show for his riding skills.
- Rest in Mongolian traditional Ger at the camp.
Day 3: Travel to Kharakhorum & Sightseeing in Kharakhorum (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast and depart to Kharakhorum approximately 310KM, 5 hours.
- Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
- Upon arrival in Kharakhorum, visit the Local Museum and Erdene Zuu monastery.
- After a day of exploration, settle in for the night.
Day 4: Travel to Orkhon Valley (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast and begin your day by traveling along the famous Orkhon Valley approximately 90KM.
- Visit a Yak herder nomad family.
- After the visit, continue your journey to a Ger camp, where you will stay for the night.
Day 5: Travel to Khognokhan Mountain (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast and depart from your Ger camp and travel to Khognokhan Mountain Natural Reserve, approximately 170 km.
- Visit a camel herder family.
- Enjoy a memorable hour of camel riding through the sand dunes.
- Overnight stay at Ger camp
Day 6: Travel to Khustai (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast and depart from Khognokhan Mountain Natural Reserve and travel to Khustai National Park, a journey of approximately 190 km.
- Visit the Information Center for learning about the park and visit the park to spot wild horses.
- Late afternoon continue trip to Ulaanbaatar city for 100kms.
- Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and take some time to visit city shops and malls.
- Enjoy a farewell dinner.
Day 7: Departure (Breakfast)
- Enjoy breakfast at your hotel.
- Check out from the hotel and transfer to the airport for your departure.
